The name may say New York but his heart is right here in Seattle. Since moving here in 1993 from San Francisco, Vinnie has become one of Seattle's most vocal and recognizable sports personalities.
Born within a fly ball's distance of New York's Shea Stadium, he spent his formative years sitting in the stands at the ballpark having a lot of fun while letting players know just what he thought of them, good or bad...with no holds barred.
He came to Seattle after 13 years in San Francisco where he got his start as a DJ playing alternative music and talking about life on KUSF. He also spent time at KKCY, KRQR where he crossed over to do sports reports and cover Bay Area teams and then on to KDBK where he was the Sports Director and hosted a nightly sportstalk show.
Sports fans in Seattle know Vinnie as a guy who will go the extra mile to bring them the real story and is not shy about his opinions. He is also known as a guy who gets involved. He was very active in the movement to keep the Mariners here in Seattle in 1995 even being quoted in the Washington State Supreme Court decision on the building of Safeco Field. He again led the charge of the fans when the Seahawks were going to pull up stakes and move to L.A., taking part in debates and helping to get out the vote that built Seahawks Stadium. He also gave up his body for the Mariners in 2000 as he became the teams good luck charm letting players rub his belly for good luck as they swept the White Sox and took the Yankees to 6 games in the American League Championship Series.
Vinnie's unique perspective on life most recently was featured on Newsradio 710 KIRO's New York Vinnie Show . Vinnie's show was centered around sports but also included talk about politics, lifestyle topics, interviews with lost stars of the 60's and 70's, weekly outdoor reports and car reviews. Vinnie has also been the weekend sports anchor on the "Q13 Fox Ten O'Clock News" and co-hosted Q-13's "Mariners Game Day" and Seahawks GameDay. He also hosts "Drive Time," a weekly auto review syndicated nationally by NWSN Media.
In his spare time he can be found working on his classic Chevy El Camino or Corvette or searching used record stores for the next addition to his large collection of baseball music. He is also involved in several local charities.
